Thursday the Tonganoxie Public Library will be going to the birds … or almost!
Youths will have the chance to make their very own mini birdhouse during this free program at 3:45 p.m.
Children under the age of 8 years old do need to have an adult present for assistance.
Call to reserve a birdhouse and program spot by calling the library at 913-845-3281.
Spring-inspired food program next week
It’s almost time for our next Knowledge @ Noon program! On Tues., April 8th at noon join us for some spring inspired dishes, sweet & savory, that will leave you wanting more! You’ll be treated to a live food demo from the K-State Research & Extension Master Food experts. Food samples and recipes to try at home will be included. No registration required to attend.
Reading to dogs at the library
The Read to Dogs program for kids returns to Tuesday afternoons starting this month. Each week a certified therapy dog visits the library from 3:30-4:45 p.m. with its handler. Major Tom and Foxy Lady take turns visiting and listening to kids read to them, and it’s hard to tell who enjoys each session more, the kids or the dogs! This is a great confidence booster for those beginning or reluctant readers too. Call the library at 913-845-3281 to reserve a 15 minute time slot.
