The Tonganoxie Public Library will be closed Sunday in observance of the Easter holiday.

Special activity at Adult Art Night

During the April meeting of the Adult Art Night program on Monday, there will be an activity participants can do.

The library will have all of its usual large assortment of art supplies, but this month there will also be watercolor pencils and watercolor blank cards that can be decorated for a special occasion like Mother’s Day. This is a drop-program starting at 6 p.m. and running until about 7:30 p.m. on the third Monday of each month.

Plant and garden exchange final weekend of the month

It’s almost time for one of the library’s most popular annual events, the Plant and Garden Exchange! You never know what will be there from year to year, but it’s typical to find seeds, plants, houseplants, vegetables, garden pots and tools, garden decor, books, hoses, and more. For those who would like to bring something to the exchange, you can drop it off during open library hours on April 25. If you donate, you’ll get first viewing 10-11 a.m. April 26. We’ll have tons to see! After 11 a.m. anyone (whether donating or not) can take a look and bring something home. Everything is 100% free but does go quickly! Plant activity for youths next week

Kids who love plants, have a budding green thumb, or those who just like to get creative will enjoy taking part in our program on 3:45 p.m. April 24.

Each child will receive a small flower pot to decorate and then will have the opportunity to pick out a succulent and plant it in their pot to take home. This activity is free, but space and supplies are limited. Please call the library at 913-845-3281 to sign up.
