Tonganoxie, McLouth included in winter storm warnings

Here's a look Monday, Jan. 6, 2025, down Fourth Street in Tonganoxie following rain and heavy snowfall for Winter Storm Blair, which hit the area starting Saturday afternoon. Up to 2 inches could fall Jan. 9, per a National Weather Service winter weather advisory.A winter storm is expected to drop between 5-9 inches the area overnight starting early Wednesday into the evening.
The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill, Mo., issued a winter storm warning for portions of east central and northeast Kansas, including Leavenworth County. The warning is midnight until 9 p.m. Wednesday for Tonganoxie and several other communities.
The NWS in Topeka issued a winter storm warning for portions of northeast Kansas and central, north central, northeast, northwest and west central Missouri, including Douglas and Jefferson counties. The warning is 9 p.m. Tuesday to 6 p.m. Wednesday for McLouth, Lawrence and several other towns and cities in Kansas and Missouri. That warning also comes with anticipated snow accumulations of 5-9 inches.
