A Tonganoxie woman has been convicted of selling sexual relations from inside a local massage business.

Jiayan Mo, 62, was arrested Jan. 22 following an undercover investigation conducted by the Tonganoxie and Lawrence police departments. She pleaded guilty on June 25, 2025, to one count of selling sexual relations.

According to court records, Tonganoxie police began investigating Golden Spa Massage after a customer reported feeling uncomfortable during a massage. Due to this report, the Tonganoxie Police Department contacted the Lawrence Police Department due to its experience with similar cases.

On Jan. 21, Lawrence officers conducted an undercover operation at the business. The following day, officers executed a search warrant at the spa, where Mo was taken into custody.

Following Mo’s guilty plea, the judge accepted her plea, found her guilty, and a Leavenworth District Court Judge sentenced her to a fine of $250, plus court fees.

Leavenworth County Attorney Todd Thompson said, “We are appreciative of the swift response by law enforcement in investigating this matter. This is an illegal activity that warrants serious attention, and we want to promote and protect the integrity of our community.” Thompson continues, “We understand that the defendant has moved out of state, and we appreciate those who report concerns about unlawful or inappropriate behavior.”
