The Tonganoxie High School Class of 2025 soon will be alumni.

THS commencement exercises are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at Chieftain Arena on the high school campus.

This year’s class consists of 155 seniors.

The graduating class will enter Chieftain Arena as The Tonganoxie High School band plays.

Wesley Johnson will give the welcome at Saturday’s graduation ceremony.

Per tradition, THS senior vocalists will perform “Maybe Someday” and then fellow high school vocalists will join them to sing “Remember Me.”

THS principal Cody Witte will recognize National Honor Society students, 4.0 students and the National Merit Finalist. Assistant principal Kelly Hoopes will then announce career and technical education students, students with the seal of biliteracy and students entering the military.

Next during the ceremony will be recognition of salutatorian Wesley Johnson. Solomon Carter will then give the valedictorian address. After Carter’s speech concludes, Witte will offer the principal’s message before assistant principals Hoopes and Josey Eastes will award diplomas with assistance from Tonganoxie USD 464 Board of Education members.

The Tonganoxie High School Band will then play the recessional.

Crowds usually gather in front of Chieftain Arena so family, friends and community members and greet the graduates after the ceremony.

Graduation escorts this year are Kalea Baldock and Kizer Morando. Greeters are Lila Carlton, Adrienne Dean and Isaiah Manus. The THS Class of 2025 have had or will be having their own graduation parties, but class members will celebrate together Saturday night with the annual Project Grad festivities, which this year will take place in the Kansas City area.
