McLouth graduation set for Saturday
McLouth will celebrate the graduation of 36 seniors Saturday during high school commencement exercises at the MHS Gold Gymnasium.
The MHS band will perform “Graduation Suite” for the processional.
MHS principal JD Nelson will give the opening remarks.
Co-valedictorians Cresidna Bandel, Jarrick Chenhall, Judd Holwick and Dani Lee will be recognized after opening remarks.
Nelson will then recognize honor students and Aaron Polson, Annamarie Rainey and local families will present 16 local scholarships.
Those scholarships are: Bank of McLouth, Pete Edmonds Memorial, Stan and Fern Braksick, Bethel Graham Cook, Belle L. Wellman Memorial, Mclouth Recreation Commission, Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce, Chase Coffin Memorial, Michelle Harsh Memorial, Linda C. Sullivan Nursing, John McPherson Memorial, McLouth Kiwanis, Ricky McDowell Music, Corbin Mance Memorial and the Justin Johnston Memorial.
After scholarships have been announced, USD 342 Superintendent Jerome Johnson will present the class for graduation. Board of Education members will then present diplomas before Nelson presents the class.
The MHS band will then perform the alma mater and the recessional.
Graduation escorts are Cheiton Brnadel, Charlesey Coffin, Mya Folsom and Braden Blowers.
Students wearing a white stole are National Honor Society members and those with gold cords are in the Top 10% of the class.
Those with red, white and blue cords are on Student Council, while those with blue and gold cords are in FFA.
Senior class officers are Mark Aspinwall, president; Lucy Zachariah, vice president; Zoey Delaet, secretary; and Gage Fields, treasurer.
Class colors are ice blue and white and the class motto “There are more characters in Shrek than just Shrek.”
