ELECTION CENTRAL 2025: Wilke top vote-getter in Tonganoxie City Council race; Dean retains USD 464 spot

Election news

A challenger had the highest vote total in Tuesday’s Tonganoxie City Council race, while a current school board member nabbed the highest total in the USD 464 race.

Rev. Matthew Wilke won one of three seats on the Tonganoxie City Council. The Tonganoxie United Methodist Church pastor garnered 407 votes, while incumbent Loralee Stevens received 353 and challenger Rebecca Skeet-Grube 322.

Current council member Matt Partridge was just 25 votes from retaining his seat. Partridge finished with 297. His term will end in January.

Current school board member Evan Dean led vote-getters with 933 in the USD 464 race.

Lisa Balmer had 901 and incumbent Chris Gratton 827.

Challenger Susan Stieben was unsuccessful in her bid for a school board seat. She had 599 votes.

Tuesday’s winners will be sworn in for their terms in January.
