Graduation is Saturday for Tonganoxie High Class of 2026

Tonganoxie High School Class of 2025 members fling their mortar boards into the air after officially being announced graduates Saturday at Chieftain Arena.

The community will celebrate the Tonganoxie High School graduating class of 2026 with commencement exercises this weekend.

Graduation will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Chieftain Arena on the THS campus.

Samantha Reischman will give the welcome after she and fellow THS seniors, along with faculty, file into the gymnasium as the THS band plays “Pomp and Circumstance.”

The Chieftain Singers will then perform “Maybe Someday” and “Wanting Memories.”

THS principal Cody Witte will recognize National Honor Society members and 4.0 students. THS assistant principal Kelly Hoopes will recognize career and technical degrees and military recognitions.

Reischman also is this year’s salutatorian and will be recognized for that distinction.

Hoopes and Josey Eastes, THS activities director and dean of students, will present the class as mortar boards will fly into the air, signifying that class members have officially graduated.

The THS band will finish up the ceremony with the recessional.

Ushers this year are Joel Merei and Adalyn Schooler, while greeters are Ruby Breuer, Josephine Roe, Parker Welsh and Marshall Wright.

Graduates will wear various cords signifying accomplishments and organizations.

Gold is for National Honor Society, teal for technical school, red and white for Family, Community and Career Leaders of America members, blue and gold for FFA (Future Farmers of America) and red for student council.
