Tonganoxie VFW honors fallen with traveling Vietnam wall

Tonganoxie High School political scIence students assist Tonganoxie VFW members Thursday in assembling the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall at VFW Park. The traveling wall was in Tonganoxie Thursday through Sunday evening. The trailer carrying the wall segments got a police escort from Basehor. It marked the wall’s first time in Tonganoxie since the 1990s.The trailer carrying the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall rolled Thursday into Tonganoxie with a police escort from Basehor.
Tonganoxie High School political science students helped Tonganoxie VFW members that day in assembling the memorial at VFW Park. There also were memorials for the Iraq wars and 9-11. Local veterans served guard at the park around the clock from Thursday until Sunday evening.
