Tonganoxie softball enters week 11-7

Tonganoxie softball takes an 11-7 record into competition this week and currently is the No. 7 seed in the Class 4A East Bracket.

THS is coming off a 7-4 victory last week against Baldwin at Kansas City Kansas Community College. The game originally was slated to be played at the Leavenworth County Fairgrounds, but the game was moved due to field conditions at the field.

Tonganoxie had a doubleheader Tuesday night against Ottawa that took place after The Mirror’s print deadline. The Cyclones were 9-7 entering the games. Tonganoxie is on the road Thursday at Piper (6-8) and then back home Monday against Jeff West (16-4). The regular season concludes later next week May 15 with a doubleheader at home against Atchison (11-4).

As of Tuesday afternoon, THS was the No. 7 seed in the 4A East Bracket. If the postseason would have started today, Tonganoxie would travel to No. 2 Fort Scott (17-4) for a regional. No. 2 Fort Scott would face No. 15 Parsons (4-10) and No. 7 Tonganoxie would take on No. 10 Holton (11-9) in the regional semifinals.
