It has been a quarter-century since the 9-11 attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon.

Friday marks 25 years since the tragedy took place Sept. 11, 2001.

Sporting events will be observing the anniversary throughout the country on Friday and during the weekend.

Both Tonganoxie High School and the University of Kansas will have football games Friday in Tonganoxie and Lawrence, respectively.

Tonganoxie VFW members will be presenting the colors before Friday’s home game against Hayden Catholic at Beatty Field.
