Poet’s Corner: Loren Chenoweth

By Staff | Mar 28, 2007

Editor’s note: This week’s poet is school bus driver Loren Chenoweth.

On the bus

When I’m drivin’ down the road

With the students that I load

Yeah I watch how I drive

Cause I wanna keep me and the kids alive.

Now I’ve done my morning run

And it wasn’t any fun

And I’m glad that it’s over

Yeah I’m glad that it’s done.

I was drivin’ so slow I could scratch every itch

But I figured it was better than sittin’ in a ditch.

So if you’re in a hurry cause you’re tryin’ to make a showin’

Just slow down a little bit and you will get where you’re goin’.
