Bulldogs pick up pair of wins
October 14, 2008
The McLouth High volleyball team tallied two more victories recently at Kansas City Christian. The Bulldogs defeated Doniphan West in three games, 16-25, 25-12 and 25-12, and knocked off host KCC in two, 25-19 and 25-9.
Kylie Shufflebarger led the team with 34 kills. Jeri Holwick led the Bulldogs with 16 assists and Courtney Chilcoat passed out 13 assists.
The victories moved McLouth’s record to 18-10 overall, 7-4 in the Delaware Valley League. MHS thought it had picked up a victory against Highland Park via forfeit a few weeks back at a quadrangular, but coach Erika Houk said that won’t be the case. MHS now will play Highland Park, a Topeka school, next Tuesday at home.
MHS played host to Pleasant Ridge and Valley Falls on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will play in the DVL Tournament on Saturday. For more on those matches, pick up next week’s edition of The Mirror.

Point of View
Have you been paying attention to the nationwide egg recall?
“Even though I pay attention to news such as this, I am not an alarmist and realize that there are always going to be numerous recalls on various items. We all just need to be informed which is what is taking place with the news coverage.”
