After winning the first game, 6-3, the Chieftains lost the second contest, 5-2.

THS (3-6) had a rally going in its last at bat of the evening but couldn’t put enough together.

Junior Alisha Barnes and freshman Makayla Leslie led the Chieftains at the plate in both games. Barnes racked up six hits in the doubleheader and one of her few outs was a long fly ball caught at the outfield wall.

Tonganoxie is scheduled to host a 4:30 p.m. twinbill with Perry-Lecompton on Thursday at the Leavenworth County Fairgrounds.
