Wildcats fall in second round 44-37

TONGANOXIE – Ice cold shooting and 18 turnovers cost the De Soto High boys basketball team dearly as it lost to Silver Lake 44-37 Friday in the second-round of the Tonganoxie Invitational.
De Soto made just four field goals in the first half and made only three in the second half, combining to shoot 7-for-27 from the floor. De Soto made 18-of-28 free throws to stay in the game.
Brandan Philbrook scored 12 points and had six rebounds for De Soto.
De Soto (7-4) will play Eudora at 2:30 p.m. in the third-place game.
