Mary Maydeen Tade 1918 - 2008 Lawrence

Funeral services for Mary Maydeen Tade, 90, Lawrence, were Thursday, April 17, at First United Methodist Church in Lawrence. Burial followed in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Tade died Sunday, April 13, 2008, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born Feb. 19, 1918, in Hominy, Okla., the daughter of James H. and Eunice Embry Hendricks. She graduated from Hominy High School in 1939.
Mrs. Tade worked as a manager of Russell Stover Candies in Wichita until moving to Tonganoxie in 1949. While in Tonganoxie, she was a Girl Scout leader and Sunday school teacher. She relocated to Medicine Lodge, and was an Avon representative and worked at Mayfield's Store until her retirement in 1982. She then moved to Lawrence, where she volunteered at Lawrence Memorial Hospital for nine years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
She married Allen L. Tade on Oct. 12, 1946, in Newton. He died Feb. 13, 2008. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, John, Olen and Sam Hendricks, and three sisters, Edna Creekpaun, Beulah Beasinger, and Effie Kendricks.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Suzanne Stoppel, Washington, Kan.; a son, Jeffrey A. Tade, Beaverton, Ore.; and two grandsons.
Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, 601 Indiana in Lawrence, handled arrangements.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the church, in care of the funeral home.
