But that doesn’t bother Roger Shilling, who submitted the request.

“I think they’re just waiting on a site plan,” said Shilling, adding that he plans to provide one to the city’s planner.

Shilling said he is handling the footwork on behalf of others who hope to construct a concrete batching plant on property Shilling owns southeast of S & S Body Shop, 922 E. Fourth.

Last Wednesday, Tonganoxie Planning Commission turned down the request, 6-0, because Shilling had not provided specific plans.

“I’ll provide it soon,” Shilling said this week.

He said he hopes that Meier Ready Mix, Topeka, will construct a plant at the site.
