Snow leads to canceled classes on Thursday and Friday
After a winter storm blanketed Leavenworth County with about eight inches of snow on Thursday, Tonganoxie youths had an unexpected day off from school.
Though classes were canceled, Thursday’s clear weather and the powdery soft snow gave the children plenty of opportunity to get together.

And they’ll have another “snow day” away from school to enjoy the winter landscape. Thursday night, school officials called school off for Friday.
