Enjoy McLouth’s 19th Annual BBQ Blowout.
It is the Northeast Kansas State BBQ Championship. Kids will enjoy an exotic animal petting zoo with pony and camel rides from 6-10 p.m. Friday. Saturday begins at 7 a.m. with a 4-H country breakfast, followed by a full day of events. It all happens at Prairie Park on the west edge of McLouth. Admission is free.
• Are you registered to vote? If not, contact your courthouse. The primary election is Tuesday, Aug. 3. Deadline to register for this important primary election is July 19.

Jeff Dickinson was elected to the position of director of the board of the Fall Creek Cemetery Corporation on Sunday at the meeting following the memorial service. Jackie Schwinn is treasurer with two years left of her term and Ron Joles has one year left on his term as secretary.
Kevin and Sandy Butler entertained relatives Sunday afternoon.
Saturday, Kathy Powers and Bid Sheppard went with Doug and LeeAnn Eaken of Olathe to Manhattan to help Dick and Wanda Jepsen celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary.
Steve and Gail Fitzwater visited Thamar Barnett on Saturday afternoon. Monday, Jess Barnett and Tim Davis visited her.
