McLouth Happenings
The game is on for the 2012 Souper Bowl at the McLouth United Methodist Church.
This year the McLouth UMC is taking on the Tonganoxie UMC to see which church will be named the Souper Bowl Champion. Each can of condensed soup will earn one point for each church, and a new rule allows two points for each can of “chunky-style” soup, stew, chili, ravioli, Beefaroni, and SpaghettiOs.
Saturday was the official kickoff, and the friendly competition will continue through Feb. 5.
The McLouth UMC team must keep rushing those cans to church in order to tackle hunger and block Tonganoxie UMC from intercepting the Souper Bowl trophy. Last year, McLouth UMC teams collected 3,329 cans of soup for area food pantries.
