There was a retirement party for Jane Turner on Dec. 31 at Leavenworth City Hall. She worked there for 19 years. David also went to the party and ended up getting his picture in the Leavenworth Times when he had to remove snow from his vehicle.

Barney and Janice Baragary of Boonville, Mo., formerly of this area, have three new great-grandsons, all born in June of 2012. Each of Barney and Janice’s three children had a grandson.

Eric Barnett took Thamar Barnett on Sunday to Kansas City International Airport to see Chief Petty Officer Derek Barnett off on the first leg of his deployment to Afghanistan. He went to Biloxi, Miss., then will go to North Carolina before going to Afghanistan.
