McLouth Happenings
McLouth United Methodist Church and Tonganoxie United Methodist Church will once again go head-to-head in the 2014 UMC Souper Bowl. Coach Tin Can (Kenny Edmonds) is back to lead the McLouth UMC Pantry Raiders in the fight to tackle hunger. Once again, we are seeking support throughout McLouth to help fill the shelves of seven area food pantries.
The official 2014 Souper Bowl kickoff will begin Sunday, Jan. 19. Help tackle hunger by running those sacked cans of condensed soup to church, and go for the extra points by handing off cans of chunky-style soup, stew, chili, and pasta — such as ravioli, Beefaroni, or SpaghettiOs. If you would like to support our team, but are not able to get out to purchase the food items, then just drop your cash donation in the “big” soup can available at church. There will also be designated drop-off sites for can collections throughout McLouth. Be sure to encourage your friends, relatives and neighbors to join in on the fun and, more importantly, help those in need. The last day for collection of cans will be Feb. 2, Souper Bowl Sunday, at the 10:30 a.m. church service.
