McLouth Happenings
McLouth Cub Scout Pack 81 recently had its pinewood derby Jan. 19 at McLouth Elementary School. Cub scouts remembered their motto, “Do your best,” as they designed, shaped, fine-tuned and decorated their cars. More than 30 scouts were proud to exhibit their creations and race on the pack’s brand new aluminum track in the company of supportive families and friends.
The cars were judged on appearance and awarded certificates in several categories, including best paint job, most creative, most patriotic and most scout-like. Each den also voted for its favorite car. Award recipients were: Tiger: Carter Coit, Wolves Caeden Murphy and Levi Blitch; Bear: Quentin Sudlow; Webelos 1: Jonathan Johnston; Webelos 2: Macyn Felix.
The scouts with the fastest cars awarded trophies were Matthew Kuglin, third; C.J. Rice, second; and Reagan Fales, first. For additional information about scouting, please contact Michael Beach at beachin79@yahoo.com.
