Judy Sloan, Evelyn Schwinn and Maxine Tucker met at the home of Eugene and Eileen Kramer on April23 to prepare the letter for the alumni of Easton Rural High School, which will be June 7.

Peggy Gillaspie and Evelyn Schwinn went April 26 to the Thomas home in Gardner for a baby shower for Jaclyn Wolfe.

Randy and Amy Schwinn entertained with a birthday party April 27 for their son Wyatt for his ninth birthday. Relatives attended.

JoAnn Monroe along with her daughters, JackieBrenda and Angie, and granddaughters Hanna, Rachel and Emma, flew to Atlanta for a five-day sightseeing trip.

Danny and Linda Schwinn went to Hiawatha and met with Linda’s brother Bob and Robin Schermbeck of Nebraska for a visit.

This year seems to be a good year for the mushrooms in our area as some are finding them by the buckets full. They are such a tasty treat once a year.

The recent rains have been a blessing for the corn that has been planted. Some can be seen down the rows already.

Oris Nelson of Springdale was on a ladder in his shop, fell and broke his foot. He is in the hospital, happened on April 29.

Wayne and Anabel Knapp, along with others, attended form the community to the Leavenworth-Jefferson Electric Cooperative’s annual meeting April 29 at the McLouth school. It was well-attended.

The Springdale area has received some nice rains for the farmers’ crops.
