How to catch a turkey, according to TES first-graders
Editor’s note: Students in Michelle Smith’s first-grade class at Tonganoxie Elementary School had a writing assignment providing instructions about how to catch a turkey. Here are some of their answers.
Shiah: First, hide and catch the turkey in a net. Second, shoot it with a bow. Last, pull the feathers. Then cook the turkey and eat it.
Anna: First, I would throw a net on the turkey. Next, shoot it with a bow and arrow. Third, I would clean it.
Zoey: First, catch the turkey in a trap. Next, grab it with a rope. Third I would pull out its feathers, cook it, and eat it.
Michael: First, trap the turkey. Second, catch the turkey. Third, cook the turkey.
AJ: First, I would throw a shovel at the turkey. Second pull out the feathers. Third, I would cook my turkey and eat it.
Farrah: First, I would hide in a tree to capture the turkey. Second, I would cook the turkey. Third, I would eat the turkey with my family.
