Man sentenced to 20 months in meth case
A 42-year-old man recently was sentenced to 20 months in prison for methamphetamine possession.
Chad Gorrell also must complete 12 months of post release supervision after his prison sentence. He will serve his time with the Kansas Department of Corrections.
The sentence stems from an incident last year.
Tonganoxie police received word April 28, 2013, that Gorrell was at the Downtown Bar in Tonganoxie. According to the Leavenworth County Attorney’s office, police officers knew Gorrell had a warrant for his arrest in Atchison County. Officers made contact with Gorrell and arrested him. During a search, officers found multiple items in Gorrell’s pockets, including plastic baggies and a spoon that contained methamphetamine residue.
