A former garrison commander at Fort Leavenworth gave the keynote speech at Monday’s American Legion Post 41 Memorial Day service.
Retired Lt. Col. Jack Walker served as guest speaker for the event.
Legion Post Commander Sam Peters gave the welcome, while Sacred Heart Catholic Church deacon Ron Zishka provided the invocation and benediction.
Legion members fired the rifle salute, while fellow member Wendell Espeland played “Taps.”
