Shawn Linenberger
Tonganoxie Public Library, 217 E. Fourth St.Pokemon day for kids
Youth can come trade Pokemon cards with other like-minded enthusiasts and then stick around to play the game, too, this week
The event will be 3:45 p.m. Thursday at Tonganoxie Public Library. Youths should be 9 years or older to trade cards on their own. If any younger, an adult should be present for trading, but any age can play.
Holiday hours
The library will be closed next week for the holidays.
Tonganoxie Public Library will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 24, for Christmas Eve and Dec. 25 for Christmas.
In addition, the library will close early the following week for New Year’s Eve. The library will close at 5 p.m. that day.
Cookie exchange next week
The monthly meeting of the library’s Death Cafe will be a cookie exchange at 4 p.m. Monday.
Bring your favorite cookie you made or something you picked up. Either way is okay! Enjoy tea, good conversation and a social group who isn’t afraid to chat death, dying or anything else, and a good laugh is generally had by all.
Our monthly Death Cafe is co-hosted by the Visiting Nurses Association.
