Friendlier confines: New visitor bleachers at Beatty Field among summer projects at Tonganoxie USD 464 campuses
Changes have been ongoing this summer on Tonganoxie school district campuses.
Upgrades to the career and technical education wing and the field house on the Tonganoxie High School campus and an overahaul of the playground at Tonganoxie Elementary School are among changes students and visitors will notice as the 2023-24 academic year is ushered in next month.
Additionally, the visitors bleachers at Beatty Field on the THS campus also received a facelift, replacing seating that’s been apart of the stadium in some capacity for roughly 50 years.
The new bleachers will hold 600 spectators on the visitors’ sideline. The previous bleachers, which Tonganoxie USD 464 Superintendent Loren Feldkamp said originally were the home bleachers in the 1970s, held about 400 fans.
The high school campus will have one more upgrade this summer with new fencing along U.S. Highway 24-40 to be installed soon.
