The Bonner Springs and Tonganoxie girls basketball teams will meet for a third time this season, this time with a state tournament berth on the line.
The Braves (21-1) will host the Chieftains (16-6) in the 4A sub-state championship game at 6 p.m. Saturday.
Bonner Springs brings a six-game winning streak into the game, and has outscored its sub-state opponents — Perry-Lecompton and Piper — 96-46.
The Chieftains haven’t lost since a five-point defeat against Bonner Springs on Feb. 17, and advanced to the sub-state final after defeating Topeka Hayden, 48-38, on Thursday.
In their first meeting, on Jan. 3 in Tonganoxie, the Braves also emerged victorious, leaving with a 48-32 win.
