The school got its start in 1997 and will be celebrating its latest milestone with a ceremony and gathering from 2-4 p.m. Saturday at Genesis Christian Academy.

A mosaic of Genesis shirts will be on display at the event and visitors can take a gander at photos from every year that classes have been in session at the private school on Washington Street.

There also will be a short program at 3 p.m. to recognize those people in the community who have helped make Genesis become a success. There also will be some “iconic Genesis gems” that will be shown during that time.

Visitors also can find a table with 25th anniversary commemorative items available for purchase.

Social media volunteer Alicia Wylie has published several posts on the Genesis Christian Academy Facebook page in recent weeks with some photos from various classes.

The celebration comes a few months after Tonganoxie Christian Church celebrated its sesquicentennial. The 150th anniversary celebration took place in June for the church.

The Tonganoxie church, 125 years after its inception, created Genesis Christian Schools.
