TCHS’ 4th Tuesday program to focus on stories from the Holocaust
This month’s Tonganoxie Community Historical Society’s Fourth Tuesday Program focuses on stories from the Holocaust.
TCHS will host Caryn Mirriam-Goldberg for her program: Holocaust Stories of Resistance and Resilience at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the former Reno Methodist Church at the historical museum site, 201 W. Washington St.
This is the story of Lou Frydman, a Holocaust survivor, and Jarek Piekalkiewicz, a Polish
resistence fighter, and how they overcame great odds and personal tragedies to build new lives in Kansas. Caryn is an author of 21 books, including “Needle in the Bone,” which is the basis of this presentation. She is a former Kansas Poet Laureate and she also teaches, facilitates and coaches groups and businesses on effective writing, communications and team building.
The program and meeting will run from 7-8:30 p.m. starting with a brief business meeting
followed by the historical program. This program is sponsored by Humanities
Kansas.
All are welcome for this free program. Refreshments will be served after Mirriam-Goldberg’s presentation.
