Vietnam exhibit run concludes Saturday at museum
Tonganoxie Community Historical Society Museum
Kansas Stories of the Vietnam War: The Tonganoxie Edition is in its final days as an exhibit at the Tonganoxie Community Historical Society.
This exhibit is the culmination of a statewide project, Kansas Stories of the Vietnam War, which was sponsored by Humanities Kansas starting in early 2024.
Ten local veterans participated in the project, along with the families of three other veterans. Five board members of TCHS worked with local Vietnam era veterans to collect their oral histories. The exhibit is on display at the TCHS museum, 201 W. Washington St., during museum regular hours. 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesdays, 9 a.m.-noon today and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays. Admission is free.
September events
• Sept. 9, Gambino’s Pizza will be donating a portion of profits to TCHS from 4:30 p.m. until close.
• Sept. 13, the TCHS Barn will be the site for the Tall Tale Tryouts starting at 5 p.m.
• Sept. 20, the annual picnic will be at the TCHS Barn. Meat, drinks and table settings will be furnished. Bring a side dish or dessert. Starts at 6 p.m.
