Burnett and Brignoni

Gregory Ireland Burnett and Coral Natalia Brignoni Barrera were married October 13, 2007 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Lee's Summit, Mo.
Parents of the couple are Alberto and Maria Brignoni of Shawnee, and Cecil and Janet Burnett of Tonganoxie.
Grandmothers are Elsie Brignoni and Gloria Barrera of Puerto Rico and Shirley Burnett of Mullinville.
The bride attended the University of Alabama-Birmingham and College of Hair Design. She is co-owner of Lola Beauty in Overland Park.
The groom, a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity, attended Kansas State University and is a sales consultant for Van Chevrolet. After a wedding trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico, the couple is at home in Overland Park.

Anniversary

Slawson

Mr. and Mrs. Edward Slawson, Tonganoxie, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house gathering to which their family will play host.
Ed Slawson and Carol Wiley were married May 18, 1958, at the United Methodist Church in Tonganoxie. They owned and operated Slawson Plumbing Electric in Tonganoxie for 30 years. They have three children: Pam Slawson, married to Tom Geyer, Tonganoxie; Kent Slawson, Portland, Ore.; and Jennifer Miller, married to Steve Miller, Tonganoxie. They have five grandchildren.
Friends of the Slawson family are invited to attend the open house gathering at Holy-Field Vineyard and Winery, 18807 158th Street, Basehor, on Saturday, June 28, between 2 and 5 p.m. The Slawson family requests no gifts, other than good wishes and fond memories.
